Every pirate in your crew can be assigned to one of five roles. Each role (except Mozzo) provides two team-wide bonuses based on the assigned pirate's skills. The better the pirate's relevant skills, the stronger the bonus for the whole crew.

Roles

Captain

The face of the crew. A good Captain gets you better deals at the market and attracts more fans to your games.

Reputation 75% Charisma + 15% Aggression + 10% Strength

Pilot

Your navigator. A skilled Pilot finds more loot during exploration and gets the ship moving faster between planets.

Doctor

Keeps the crew in shape. A good Doctor means faster training and quicker recovery from tiredness.

Engineer

The technical brain. A sharp Engineer makes your weapons hit harder in space adventures and speeds up spaceship and asteroid upgrades.

Mozzo

Entry-level crew members. Mozzos don't provide any team bonuses, but they can be promoted to any other role at any time. When a pirate is demoted from a role, they become a Mozzo again (and lose a bit of morale in the process).

How bonuses work

Each bonus starts at a base of 1.0x and scales with the assigned pirate's relevant skills. The maximum skill value is 20, so a pirate with perfect skills in the right areas can push a bonus up to 2.0x. Pirates with certain special traits can push this even further with a 25% multiplier on specific bonuses.
